The Oriental Institute at The University of Chicago is unveiling their latest photo exhibit entitled, “Our Work: Modern Jobs, Ancient Origins” on August 20, 2013. On the cover of the exhibit catalog is Margie Smigel, one of the city’s most renowned real estate brokers. Margie is seen with an ancient Mesopotamian land sale document that recorded real estate transactions 5,000 years ago.

The photo exhibit will begin on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM until Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 6:00 PM at The Oriental Institute on 1155 East 58th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60637. All photos were taken by renowned Chicago-based photographer Jason Reblando.
